Asked Questions
Do I need a membership to book a court?
No. Anyone can book a court or join Open Play without a membership. Members receive off-peak pricing all the time, free paddle rentals, and priority access to leagues and classes.
What is included in Open Play?
Open Play is a drop-in session where you show up, get on a court, and play with whoever is there. It is $25 per session for non-members and 20% off for members. All skill levels are welcome.
Do you provide equipment?
Yes. Paddles are available for rental at $5 per session. Members get paddle rentals included free of charge.
Can I take lessons at Newport Racquet Club?
Yes. Certified coaches are available for private lessons and group instruction. Group Classes run at $35 per person with a 4 to 1 player-to-coach ratio.
What leagues and programs do you offer?
We run a Weekend Ladder League (DUPR-rated, 6 weeks, $210 per person), Group Classes organized by skill level, Newport Network and Play social sessions ($8 per person), and a Peewee Pickleball Camp for kids on Saturday mornings ($40 per child). How far in advance can I book a court?
Court bookings open on a rolling basis. Check the booking page for current availability.
Do you host private events?
Yes. The rooftop courts are available for private buyouts. Weekday buyouts start at $1,200 for 2 hours with 4 courts and up to 32 guests. Weekend buyouts start at $1,500. Corporate buyouts for up to 64 guests are available starting at $3,000. All buyouts include free paddle rentals and a facilitator. Please contact us to move forward with booking.
Is the facility seasonal?
Yes. Newport Racquet Club operates outdoors from May 1 through October 1 each year. In winter, we will transition into our ice skating rink, Newport Skates.
